Leafblowers and a Certain Hero

The funniest thing I saw all day (and I saw a lot of funny things): our neighbor was "raking" his yard with the help of a leaf blower, and about a third of the way through his yard, he turned the leaf blower upwards and started blowing the still unfallen leaves out of the tree. Just speeding up the process, I guess.

Hey, and look who we met today!
I'll write more about it later, but it was an exciting moment for me, one that made me want to shout Amen! even though I was skipping church to meet her.

Oh, I would have been skipping church to meet her too...and I'm the pastor's wife :) Can't wait to hear all about it. The leaf thing was funny. With all the leaves falling in our backyard at the moment...that same thought has crossed my mind too.
But, I love fall to much to speed it up.

Am I living under a rock? I don't know who she is. How can this be?

Ach, I'm sorry Steph. I knew that not everyone would know who she is, and I was planning on posting the follow-up right away to make sure no one was left in the dark, but I got sidetracked yesterday. I'm getting ready to post the part 2 soon (it's Melissa Faye Greene, author of There Is No Me Without You).

Thanks, Lori! It looks like I rushed my "under a rock" comment before. I should've just waited. :)

This is Ted: Rusty wins extra points in the game of life for knowing this shirt. I couldn't even remember where I got it from, but I always liked it because my dad's name is Ed. I tell people I got it from some movie shoot, but I could never remember where. :)
