Toddler Abe

I was talking with my friend Jocelyn last night about how people ask us if we miss the baby-stage that our kids have grown out of. Neither of us do. Sure, Abe was a sweet, sweet, sweet baby who slept all night and ate every single thing we fed him, and now he's a toddler who is picky and has tantrums that turn his lips blue, but I don't long for the baby Abe. This age is so fun. We are constantly entertained watching his personality erupt just like those dang molars that make him suck his thumb and drool. His imagination is coming to life, he sings, he runs, he squeals in delight, he makes us laugh, and he's actually more cuddly as a toddler than he was as a baby.

We heart Toddler Abe. Here's Abe playing with his cousin Matt.

Abe is still pretty obsessed with The Ting Tings' song, "Great DJ," which you can hear him sing at the very end of this video. He sings this all day long.

I've never raised an infant...but I agree I LOVE THE TODDLER STAGE. They are out to conquer the world!Today I taught Leul how to say "Lets Do it Baby" hahaha. So if I say "Leul lets go pick up dad" he'll say "lets do it baby." LOL Thanks for the video...he's quick in movement!

Cutie pie!!! He's so curious! How precious - I don't miss anything much about having an infant! Except that I had more indoor freedom!! But that is it!

Hey Lori - How old is Abe now? I'm having a hard time remembering, but I'm trying to calculate how long I've got before Dinkeneh starts serenading me. :)

I have to agree... I think toddlers ROCK! Having started my journey as a parent with a toddler, I don't have any baby stages to compare it to, but at 17 months Mimi is just full of wonder and amazement every day!

We cannot wait to get together with you guys... I think that Abe & Mimi may sing and dance together for hours!

Lori, just wanted to leave a comment and say thanks for all your thoughtful posts! I enjoy it very much. I see your trader joe's bag there, ahhh...the love that I have for that store:) Your Abe is handsome and we look forward to our Elias being just as entertaining!! Baby stage is sweet and tiring, toddlers are freakishly funny.

This is great to read. One of the things that makes me feel a bit sad is that we're going to miss the first few months (maybe quite a few months) of our baby's life, and a I keep thinking 'but surely that's the fun part!' I guess not, if we have singing to look forward to in the next bit!

Yeah, toddlers are cool. I remember when one of my sisters was a toddler. She was so fun and so sweet.

I would love to hang out with Toddler Abe and his cool parents. :-) I read in one of your earlier posts that y'all were in our neck of the woods recently. Hope you had a good time!

Toddlers, even w/ the defiant tantrums, are nothing but a barrel of fun and joy..ok a little tiring now and then, but oh, there is nothing like a toddler!
