The Tin Woodman.

"Why, as for that," answered Oz, "I think you are wrong to want a heart. It makes most people unhappy. If you only knew it, you are in luck not to have a heart."

"That must be a matter of opinion," said the Tin Woodman. "For my part, I will bear all the unhappiness without a murmur, if you will give me a heart."

Sending hugs. And rosary prayers from one heart (mine) to another Sacred Heart/Mother's heart, for your heart.

And I think your heart is aching because your mom radar is tuning up, for your little girl.

It's gonna happen.

I sent this quote off to a friend just now. It's so poignantly beautiful and sad at the same time. Thinking of you, woman with much heart.

what a beautiful, poignant quote.

My sister-in-law recently said that, as her 16 year old daughter began driving, she was reminded of the saying "raising a child is like learning to live with your heart outside of your body". I daresay this is true of adoption as well (I don't have personal experience). There is a piece of you heart out there and right now the separation makes you ache. There will be all kinds of other aches over the course of parenthood but this one right now must be particularly poignant.

I am not good at remembering to pray or be thankful but I am saying a prayer for you right now. I hope that there is wonderful news on the way.
