I don't enjoy discussing politics, and I won't start now. But one thing I think we can agree on is that many politicians like doing this:
The pointing at of some phantom individual in a crowd who seems to share some inside-joke that is so hilarious that the politician erupts in laughter (in Hilary's case) or a knowing smile of a shared secret that the rest of us are out of the loop on.
Please stop this.
If you are one of the lucky ones at the receiving end of a politician's jovial point, please share with the rest of us what that feels like because I imagine it would make my insides feel like cotton candy and pudding.
In our world, look who's almost walking:
And for the catchiest, happiest songs you've heard in a long time, click here (Abe especially likes this one) and here. Turn the volume up. I'd been listening to a lot of Sufjan Stephens the past week or so, but with the onset of gray chilly fall in Portland, songs like this can bring me down, no matter how much I like it. It's for my own good to find something upbeat to listen to.
Still really enjoying the new camera.
Any other high schoolers in the '90s watched the new 90210? Show of hands?
too funny! we've always wondered who they are pointing at too!
hahahaha... I've always wondered about the weird pointing. I'm glad someone finally had the courage to call on these politicians to STOP the pointing! :).
Go Abe Go!
Yes, I watched 90210, and then fell asleep, b/c coffeemom has been praying to some saints to help me sleep. It worked.
how funny; i just blogged on Franti and how much i love his music. good choices!
i tried to watch 90210, but it was painful to watch. i'd rather watch the old reruns.
That's hysterical! I've thought the same thing. HOORAY for walking!
Look at that boy, go Abe go!
I totally agree about hating to talk politics, I have gotten pulled into some discussions the last few days, and I always regret it.
I need a tactful don't want to answer that line, any suggestions?
I'll admit it - I watched and LOVED it. It was fun to see Kelly and Brenda and the "insider" connections (Silver, the Zuckerman-Vasquez daughter, etc.)
Laura from Seattle here...an avid reader but non-commenter to date. Had to comment on this though as I could not agree more that the pointing has got to stop. When I saw this photo (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2008157614_palin04.html) this morning I could not stop laughing thinking about your post. Apparently Palin has not yet read your post. :-)
I, too, tried to watch the series premier of the new 90210 but only lasted about 10 minutes in.
Laura, thanks for the link: just added the new photo to the collection :)
I loved the songs. Doug was having a not great day today at work so I sent him the I love you I love you I love you one.
I also love Sufjan Stephens and that Abe is almost walking.
OF COURSE I watched the new 90210...my new guilty pleasure.
Here is pointing at ya!
Hysterical! I completely agree with the pointing...it has to stop.
I tried to watch 90210 but I thought it sucked big time. It's not the same. Where the heck is the Peach Pit?
You are too funny! I think I've thought this every election. What are they pointing at?? Why do I feel left out?? Glad you brought it to everyone's attention. :)
that is totally awesome. you rock.
i didn't need to watch 90210 in the 90's. i lived it in north dallas. ick.
can't believe that little buddha belly and those little pants. i mean, really.
we got your announcement today and it promptly went on the fridge. i love it.
Watched it and sad to say will keep watching it! :)
i totally watched 90210 last week and it is set to tape this week. my husband is making so much fun of me :) he said the only way he "might" watch is if steve sanders joins the cast!
Ok, yes, the pointing, very annoying! They're all doing it too!
90210, sad, I watched both episodes, I keep waiting for Dillon to show up or something! I think the only reason I can stand it is because of the memories it brings back! Ok, I'm old!
